Fees

We usually have a short conversation by phone to discuss the type of evaluation or therapy you are looking for. At that time an initial fee can be quoted based on the work needed or therapy that will be provided.  Evaluations conducted by the Spectrum Center are usually charged on a flat fee basis so that costs are predictable. A non-refundable scheduling deposit is collected when the testing appointment is made. Then, the balance of half the total fee is due at the first visit. The remaining half is usually paid at the feedback appointment or before. 

Services included in evaluations typically are an in-person clinical interview, requesting and review of records as needed, psychological and/or diagnostic testing, a feedback session to review the results, and a written report. Based on the type of evaluation and concern, we may also contact school personnel and/or conduct a school or community observation with prior parent permission. The Spectrum Center accepts in-person payment via cash, check, or debit/credit card, and healthcare savings account (HSA) debit card. For remote appointments, payment is collected by debit/credit or HSA card at the time of service.

Insurance coverage and filling

The Spectrum Center, LLC is an out-of-network provider with all insurances. When the evaluation process is complete, including feedback, we can provide a special billing receipt (superbill) that includes the information required for a family to submit a claim for reimbursement to their insurance company. Depending on your insurance plan and benefits, partial reimbursement of the evaluation or therapy costs may be possible. Prospective clients should check with their insurance provider about out-of-network benefits, current deductible status, and possible referral requirements for an evaluation. Superbills also support submission to HSA accounts for reimbursement.

We do not submit billing paperwork directly to insurance or benefits companies on behalf of clients. If pre-authorization is required for testing services, we can complete and file that paperwork prior to the start of testing.
