Getting started
If you've decided you want to get started on an evaluation or therapy, we like to begin with a phone conversation to make sure we seem like a good fit to you. For testing and evaluations we like to understand a little bit about what you hope to get out of the evaluation and verify we have the right skills to do the testing needed. For therapy, we should talk a little bit about what you hope therapy will change, who (you, your child, whole family) will be coming for sessions, and whether you have tried therapy with another person in the past. For therapy, we’ll also verify whether a therapist has an open appointment block that matches your availability.
For evaluations/testing, once we understand the scope of the work we can let you know the costs for what we have discussed. If we seem like a good fit and you want to schedule an appointment, we can do that over the phone. Appointments for testing services are usually available within 2-3 months depending on client availability, although this can vary a lot with demands changes. Most testing appointments are conducted during weekdays from 10am-2pm with some weekend availability too.
Therapy appointments are scheduled on during the work week with daytime, afternoon, and evening availability.
You can also take your time to think about it or contact other providers before making a decision. If we don't think we are the right professional to meet your or your family's needs, then we may be able to suggest a colleague who we think can help you.
When you decide to make a testing appointment, we’ll collect a non-refundable scheduling deposit of $250 that is applied to the cost of the evaluation. We'll also determine whether we’ll be meeting in-person or remotely for the appointment, as well as about forms that are useful to fill out in advance and bring with you.
